Junior Reserve Officer Training Cadet (J.R.O.T.C.) is a program that was developed to make students better leaders and citizens. In J.R.O.T.C. we learn medical skills, leadership, marching and other useful skills.

It's the most unique program in the school because of the forest green uniform we wear on Wednesdays and other special days. It is also unique because of the things we do. By getting good grades, going to Physical Training (PT) on Friday, participating in J.R.O.T.C. activities, and wearing our uniform when your supposed to, you earn rank, ribbons and awards.

I think the students in J.R.O.T.C. are very intelligent and respectful. By being in J.R.O.T.C. for four years, you could earn a scholarship to college. On Christmas, we have a Christmas party and in the spring we have a party. J.R.O.T.C. is a unique program that creates better citizens and leaders.

Sergeant Logan is the Gage Park J.R.O.T.C. instructor. Sergeant Logan graduated from Harper High School in 1975. He was a cadet in the J.R.O.T.C program for four years. After he graduated, he went to the United States Army. One of the most enjoyable things about the military to Sergeant Logan was that he got to spend time in places that other people could only dream about. After spending over 20 years in the Army, Sergeant Logan retired, and began working here at Gage Park as the J.R.O.T.C. instructor.

This is Sergeant Logan's 8th year at Gage Park. He has enjoyed every minute at Gage Park. He tries to instill the same values in his cadets that his instructors and teachers taught him. The desire to be the very best at whatever he do has stayed with him throughout the years. Most of the students hear at Gage Park think that Sergeant Logon is cool and that he has a great sense of humor that makes him a fun person to be around.
