Homecoming Day
by Anthony Johnson
When you walk inside the school, you will see banners and balloons' hanging on the walls telling you what is going to happen on Homecoming Day. On Homecoming Day, it starts off like a regular school day, but something different happens at the end. At the end of the day, students and faculty gather in the auditorium for an assembly, known as the pep rally.
At the pep rally, the coach walks onto the stage and begins to introduce the football players. He calls the players' names one by one to come down and get on the stage. As each player runs down the aisle toward the stage, the coach announces the player's position. After the football players get on the stage, the principal introduces the cheerleaders. The cheerleaders then get on stage and perform their routines. Once the cheerleaders finish their routines, the principal goes back onto the stage. While on stage, the principal gives a speech encouraging the team to do their best and encouraging the rest of the students and faculty to show their support.
After the pep rally ends, a parade begins. During the parade, the entire student body, along with family and friends, show their support as the students in ROTC march and the band plays. After the parade ends, the football players get ready to go the game and the entire student body and faculty head towards the stadium for the Homecoming game.
